Murphy Door and Covid-19 (Corona Virus) UPDATE PAGE

Last Updated 3/27/2020

Murphy Door along with the rest of the world is navigating through the Corona Virus and the changes that come along with it.  We will do our best to keep all customers, employees and vendors updated on what and how it affects Murphy Door Inc.

After much consideration on best practices we have decided to stay open for the foreseeable future.  We have taken swift action to ensure clean and sanitary workspaces. Employees with children at home and employees whose responsibilities do not require them to be onsite have been given the necessary equipment to work from home and will do their best to accommodate your needs.

Due to remote operation, there may be some delays in job function and responsivity. Here is a list of each department and what to expect.

Sale/Discount:  Murphy Door launched a spring-cleaning sale offering $200.00 off all orders over $849.00. This applies on orders placed after 3/17/2020. Code required (see banner on home page of murphydoor.com).

Ordering:  Orders are still being accepted through our exclusive supplier Home Depot, our website at murphydoor.com and by phone at 1-888-458-5911.

Customer Service:  All customer service representatives in Utah and Kentucky will be working from home during normal business hours until further notice. They are still available by chat (through murphydoor.com), phone (888-458-5911), and email (help@murphydoor.com).

Customer response and customer follow-up maybe delayed, but we will get back to you.

Warranty:  Servicing warranties remain our #1 priority. However response times may be delayed as communication occurs between our factory and customer service working from home. All warranties are still being treated as a RUSH 1. All items will be shipped via standard carrier, some areas in the country are being affected for deliveries.  If your area is affected by the COVID-19 shutdown we will hold all freight for whatever time necessary until your area is shipping at no additional cost to you.

Manufacturing:  All manufacturing facilities in Utah and Kentucky are in full operation.  We are following all necessary government requests with social distancing and not sharing workspaces or dining areas. Murphy Door’s facilities are very large and automated, allowing a minimal amount of workforce to facilitate the necessary demand.  Currently all forecasted manufacturing is still on schedule as anticipated. Any change in production and lead times will be updated on our website.

Shipping:  As of this morning most of our national carriers are operating at partial function. Some cities and states we are delivering to our asking our freight carriers to hold all non-food or pharmaceutical freight until further notice.  All freight to those areas unaffected is being delivered to consumers. Delays in these cities are not forecasted but will vary from city to city.  Variation of the acceptance of freight may occur.  If there is damage to your box, please take a photo and note of the damage following an email to us with in 24 hours.

Some cities are not allowing freight. We will attempt to call EVERY Customer prior to the shipment being delivered. If we do not get a verification that the city is not on lockdown the door will not ship.

Murphy Door in no way guarantees delivery times and or dates, this will be worked through you and the carrier.  Please search your freight information sent to you via email after your door has shipped, if you are still having issues please contact our customer service by going to murphydoor.com and going to chat or at 1-888-458-5911.

Update:  From Estes our carrier:

Effective immediately:
Final Mile Residential Deliveries will be processed as a “NO SIGNATURE (NSR)” Delivery until further notice.

o      All Residential deliveries should be delivered as scheduled, however, the driver will not secure a signature to further mitigate the risk of contamination or exposure.

o      We will require that all residential deliveries are processed using the Final Mile Mobile Application, and drivers must follow the NSR delivery process, as follows:

o      The Final Mile Residential NSR Process includes delivering the order to the Front Door, First Dry Area or Inside the Garage of the Residence, then taking photos of the order as prompted by the NSR workflow to document delivery. A Signature is NOT REQUIRED, thereby avoiding direct contact with the consignee and the exchange or touching of the driver’s phone.

Temporarily Suspending Final Mile Inside Residential Deliveries.

o      Due to concerns and feedback from residential delivery customers with regard to entering Private Residences and the risk of exposure to both customers and drivers, we will suspend Residential Inside Deliveries until the crisis has passed. Drivers can deliver into the Garage when possible for the Consignee but are restricted from entering the Home.  This includes all Threshold, Room of Choice and White Glove Services being suspended until further notice.
