Return and Refund Policy

Murphy Door wants every customer to have an exceptional experience. Our return and refund policy is designed to be fair, clear, and consistent with the way we actually do business. If you have a question about anything below, call us at 888-458-5911 and a real person will help you.

Before Shipping

Standard sized products cancelled before shipping will receive a full refund with no fees if production has not begun. Once production has begun, cancellation is subject to a 25% restocking fee based on the cancelled portion of the order. See our Cancellation Policy for full details.

After Delivery, Before Installation — Unopened

If you receive your door and decide not to install it, you may return the product in its original unopened packaging within 14 days of delivery for a full refund minus shipping costs both ways. Contact help@murphydoor.com to arrange your return.

After Delivery, Before Installation — Opened

If you have opened the packaging but have not installed the door, you may return the product within 14 days of delivery for a refund minus shipping costs both ways and a 20% restocking fee. The product must be in new, undamaged condition and repackaged in a manner suitable for freight shipping. Murphy Door is not responsible for damage that occurs during return shipping due to inadequate packaging.

After Installation

Once a door has been installed, modified, finished, or altered in any way, it cannot be returned for a refund. Our Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects discovered after installation.

Custom Products

Products manufactured to custom dimensions or custom specifications cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive with a manufacturing defect, in which case the warranty applies.

Hardware Returns

Unopened hardware may be returned within 90 days of delivery. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. A 25% restocking fee applies. Refunds for approved hardware returns are processed within 7 to 14 business days.

Shipping Damage Claims

Murphy Door inspects and photographs every order before it ships. If your door arrives with damage:

  • Note any visible damage on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing
  • Accept the delivery — do not refuse it
  • Email photos of the damage and your order number to help@murphydoor.com within 72 hours of delivery

Important: Murphy Door covers shipping damage even if you signed for the delivery without noting damage on the BOL. We understand that freight deliveries happen quickly and not all damage is visible at the curb. Report any damage you discover within 72 hours and we will take care of it. Murphy Door will replace or repair any damaged components at no charge, including replacement shipping costs.

Claims submitted outside the 72-hour window may be denied as the freight carrier claim window will have closed.

Refused Deliveries

Refusing an undamaged delivery will result in a 50% restocking fee plus return shipping costs. Please contact us before refusing any shipment.

Store Credit

In situations where a standard refund does not apply, Murphy Door may offer store credit at its discretion. We want to find a solution that works for both sides.
