Damages, Repairs, and Claims

Product Inspections

We strongly recommend inspecting your Murphy Door products in full prior to scheduling any contractors. Murphy Door is not liable for any additional fees from contractors or lost time related to damages, defects, or delays. Please ensure the product meets your expectations before hiring third-party labor.

Manufacturer Responsibility

Murphy Door strives for the highest quality, but we understand that there are times when mistakes or errors may occur. If damage or defects are present, Murphy Door will replace the product or send replacement parts until it meets all functional expectations as advertised.

Product Dimensions

Posted Dimensions

All general product dimensions are posted online or are available upon request. These dimensions reflect standard specifications and may vary slightly due to production methods.

Fitment Responsibility

It is your sole and complete responsibility to determine if the products will fit in your intended location of installation. While Murphy Door designs products for standard openings, we cannot guarantee compatibility with all spaces due to variations in framing, trim, and wall conditions.

Functional Design Considerations

For safety, functionality, and proper swing clearance, actual product dimensions will vary slightly from the selected dimensions. For example, choosing a 36" door refers to the dimension of the inside of the jamb. The actual bookcase measurements will vary depending on style and options selected (i.e. door depth, etc.). These variances are intentional and are designed to be hidden by trim or finish work during installation. Design consideration dimensions are available upon request.

Custom Sizing

Murphy Door offers custom sizing and projects, with functionality and safety in mind. These custom designs must be agreed upon at the time of purchase, and any applicable custom fees are paid at the time of purchase. Custom sizing must be part of the original order and confirmed by Murphy Door.

Assembly and Installation

Product Assembly

Most Murphy Door products are assembled at the factory prior to shipment. In some cases, large items may be partially disassembled for safe and efficient transport. Products that ship fully unassembled will be clearly labeled as such on the product page at the time of purchase.

Some assembly may be required after delivery. Murphy Door is not liable for any damages resulting from improper assembly and installation of the products. You are responsible for ensuring the products are installed and assembled correctly and safely, and we strongly recommend seeking qualified, competent assistance. Murphy Door is not responsible for damage to persons or property due to improper assembly, use, or installation of the product.

Assembly and Installation Instructions

Murphy Door provides detailed assembly and installation instructions with most products. If the instructions cannot be found, they are available as PDFs on our website at https://murphydoor.com/pages/instruction-manuals. It is your responsibility to review and follow these instructions carefully. We strongly recommend reading the full instructions before beginning assembly or installation. If you have any questions during assembly or installation, please contact Murphy Door for clarification before proceeding.
