The pin-based hinge design is what separates this system from off-the-shelf pivot hardware. The pins are removable for door adjustment after installation, and the system is engineered to stay plumb under full load, so your door hangs true the first time and stays that way.

Murphy Door®'s lifetime hardware warranty covers every mechanical component responsible for the door or bed's operation — indefinitely, for the life of the original product. Specifically covered items include: all pivot hinges and hinge assemblies; gas piston systems in Murphy bed mechanisms; all latch and catch hardware; soft-close hydraulic dampers; pivot floor hardware; wall anchoring brackets (structural failure only); and any Murphy Door®-branded mechanical accessory installed as part of the original unit.
The warranty applies to defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use conditions. It covers manufacturing defects that cause performance failure — a hinge that wears prematurely, a piston that loses gas charge, or a latch that fails to engage — not damage from misuse, improper installation, flooding, or acts of God.
Claims under the lifetime warranty are handled through [/support](/pages/help) with your order number and a description or photo of the issue. Murphy Door® ships replacement hardware at no charge for covered warranty claims, including shipping to your location. There is no charge, no deductible, and no time limit for legitimate claims under the lifetime hardware warranty.
The warranty transfers with the product if the home is sold — it applies to the original product unit, not the original purchaser. Murphy Door® hardware kits, concealment accessories, RFID fobs, replacement hardware, and other small-parcel items ship via standard parcel carriers (FedEx, UPS, or USPS) and are eligible for expedited shipping upgrades — including 2-day and overnight options — for an additional freight charge selected at checkout.

The hinges come with no instructions. I contacted the manufacturer to get the measurements for the positioning. They didn’t help. Found a YouTube video for the measurements. Hinges work great now.

Hinges are sturdy and smooth but lack instructions/templates. Advice: measure before drilling. A 4-way laser level helps a lot.

The hinges seem to be of very high quality, operating very smoothly with a very heavy self-made bookcase door of almost 100 lbs. As the previous review notes, the directions are rather poorly thought out, and at least one set still on their website does not match the hardware you actually get (the pin for the top hinge). I suggest that for self-made doors you create a template for the width and depth of the door, and make sure that clears the final trim as it opens and closes on your chosen pivot point--both top and bottom--and that the pivot points top and bottom are plumb. A bookcase in anything less than a 36" door makes for a very narrow opening.
