Description
Every Murphy Door® is hand built right here in the United States by real craftsmen in our Utah and Kentucky shops and our hardwood mill in Rigby, Idaho. Choose your face surface on this product: Real Wood Veneer (Walnut, White Oak, Maple, Knotty Alder, Red Oak), Paint Grade (a smooth, paintable Vaultwood Core™ face). Solid hardwood face frames over a Vaultwood Core™ panel, our specified premium MDF at 45 to 49 lb/ft³ with 4,500 to 5,500 psi bending strength and 275 to 350 lbf face screw hold. The hinges are machined by Murphy Door Machining (MD Machine) in Utah, never imported. That is what keeps the door flat and the hinges tight for decades.

The Bookcase French Door is 8-1/4" deep
5-1/4" out-swing, 6-1/4" in-swing, and 10" or 12" in or out-swing available.
Please be aware of the pass through loss for each depth and width of the door. Pass through clearances can be viewed in the tab labeled "Pass Through Space". View our help section for more information on our products!
Shelf Depth:
Our doors come with 6 adjustable shelves and 2 fixed shelf. Doors over 90"/92" RO will have 10 standard adjustable shelves and 2 fixed shelf. Doors under 63"/65" RO will have 6 standard adjustable shelves only.
5-1/4" door depth will have a 3" shelf depth
6-1/4" door depth will have a 4" shelf depth
Standard 8-1/4" door depth will have a 6-1/2" shelf depth
10" door depth will have an 8-5/32" shelf depth
12" door depth will have a 10-1/4" shelf depth
Average Door Weight:
Average door weight is 125 to 150 lbs per door depending on width, height, options, and locking system. Due to door weight we do not recommend 12" deep Bookcase French Doors over 80" wide. Each door will hold up to 400 lbs of shelf load on doors up to 36 inches wide.
