What is the weight rating of Murphy Door® hinge hardware?
Murphy Door®'s proprietary hinge systems are rated for bookcase doors carrying up to 300 lbs of loaded shelf weight. Heavy-duty pivot hinge configurations can support additional loads for oversized or unusually tall doors. SOSS invisible hinges have lower weight ratings appropriate for unloaded slab doors and lightweight panel doors. Weight ratings for each hardware kit are specified on individual product pages — always select hardware rated above your estimated door weight to ensure long-term performance.
Can I use Murphy Door® hardware on a wall that is not standard drywall?
Murphy Door® hardware kits are designed for standard wood-framed drywall walls.
